Why This Conditioning Works

January 31, 2010 on 10:04 pm | In Strength Training | 4 Comments

I’m sure you know that simple tweaks to your program and progressions can lead to BIG results… I just sent out this video as a bonus to the Bull Strength Conditioning newsletter and we exceeded my data limit on that site in 2 days!  I decided to post it here for everyone.

pull up variation

Here is just ONE of the progressions from the Bull Strength Conditioning Manual that ===> JUST WENT LIVE. <===

Burpee 21’s

  • Perform the bottom half of a burpee 7 times
  • Perform the top half of a burpee 7 times
  • Perform 7 full burpees

21 total reps.

Burpee 21’s

Purpose: The burpee recruits muscles from all over the body.  The bottom half is primarily chest and shoulder stability, core bracing, and then a chest press (push up).  The top portion of a burpee requires lower body strength and explosiveness.

By repeating each portion of the movement, the primary muscle groups that I just mentioned will have less recovery time and more time under tension.

Used correctly = BIG Results!

  3. Joe,

For the past 4 weeks I have been using Rundown and sled relay races with my baseball team. Rundown is pretty much perfect conditioning for baseball. Love BSC!
