Check out the workouts below and post your winner (which athlete trains the best for baseball) in the comments.
Keep in mind, these are clips of workout, but should give a general idea of their training.
I also struggled to find clips of baseball player’s full workouts, so if you have any more, please post in the comments! Tons of “gimmicky” exercises, but not much for full workouts so I had to use both college and pro clips.
I thinks hands down the Citadel wins this one. Not only does their program look better than either of the pro athletes, but the atmosphere looks like a huge part os their success. It looks like a positive and motivating place to be. The atmosphere is such a factor in any program and I would think would be just as important as the actual rountine they are performing. Once again, that looked night and day vs. the Standford program the other day. Honestly, I think it is hard to tell what MLB strength programs are like in wake of all the steroid controversy. Do you think you can’t find much about their programs because they are less intense as compared to football players for example? I would love to see a Rugby player’s strength and conditioning program. You know they have to be stout.
For some reason, baseball players / trainers tend to show just one exercise in the video. Something like – “Pitcher Does Back Squat on Smith Machine.” Not too many clips of actual training.
Coach
let me help you decide on this one. I’m going to go with the Citadel over Dan Uggla for a few reasons. i like the fact that the Citadel guys trained as a team, used different forms of strongman training and conditioning, got outside and didn’t just do band external rotations, those boys did work. Dan Uggla gets propts too for doing pull ups and free squatting unlike what you see Roger Clemens “so called trainer” have him doing on ESPN highlights. Citadel Moves on!!!!!!!!!!!!!
