How to Make a Pulling Sled

I’ve received numerous questions about how to train athletes without a sled.  It is certainly possibly, but not optimal.  There is really no reason not to have a dragging sled for your athletes to train with.  Instead of typing out the instructions, I found a video clip that is helpful.

I personally have 4 or 5 sleds.  The tire sled is gaining favor in my mind, simply because it is easier on my driveway.  I do my sled slightly different since I prefer loading it based on the athlete’s capabilities (you can with this, its just a little harder).  I use a car tire instead of a truck tire, put a piece of plywood in it, and either load it with weight plates or sandbags.  You can really use anything weighted – rocks, sand, etc.  Get yourself one of these!
