“Cardio” with Serious Six’s

October 9, 2008 on 12:51 am | In Strength Training | No Comments

When people hear the term “cardio” most think exercises like jogging, stairmaster, elipitical, etc. However for the rest of the people that find those exercises boring or time consuming, there are still many other ways to get the heart rate up. Try this barbell complex on for size.

Serious 6’s
6 Snatches
6 Bent Over Rows
6 Hang Cleans
6 Military press
6 OverHead Squats
6 Good Mornings

Complete one exercise after another without rest until all 6 lifts are finished. Perform that complex 6 times (hence serious 6’s) with fairly light weight. Only 1-1 1/2 minutes of rest inbetween each set. It is not designed to make you sore so don’t put on too much weight. Also concentrate on form throughout the training!
