Every bit of feedback from the Synergy Athletics Newsletter yesterday was “but out the video and forget the haters!”
However I did leave out my weapon of choice in this training session – a garbage can lid.
Why?
I have been getting emails from people saying that they couldn’t workout because they didn’t have X (insert any piece of equipment).
“THAT’S 100% GARBAGE” I thought to myself. “I’m going to put out the most ghetto workout I can imagine…and make it just as effective as anything else.”
Enter the garbage can lid.
Budget Workout Part II
In the video you will see exercises for the chest, back, triceps, biceps, hips, legs, and the core! All with a garbage can lid and a rope. More specifics below:
Exercises and Muscles
Dynamic Push ups – Chest, core
Hand walking – Chest, shoulder, core
Pushes – Lower body
Reverse Dynamic Push ups – chest, shoulders, core
Rows – back, grip, biceps
Lay Down Pulls – biceps, grip
Overhead Push Down – triceps, grip, core
Jack Knives – core, chest
Groiners – Core, hip mobility
Single Leg Jack Knives – Core, hips,
No garbage can lid or rope? Use a hose and some tupperware….Pipe and a skateboard…IT DOESN’T MATTER! Find something and make the magic of getting stronger happen!
HELP NEEDED
Now that you have seen how crazy some people might think the video is, please rate it 5 stars and share it with your friends! I need the backing of the Synergy community with this one!
What’s the craziest thing you have trained with? Post up your comments!

i agree..nothing is needed..when i frist started i used only body weight…push ups sit ups burpees mount climbers eightcount body builters and sprits..is all i did..man those day were hell…i cut more weight and more size and was a sight everywhere i went work was easy…one thing i needed was a clock two min all 30sec rest by the end i felt lighter and faster…i almost forgot pull up chin ups
I don’t have a garbage can lid but I’ve done it with paper plates. Of course there will always be people out there who will say, “don’t have a garbage can lid. Sorry.” I’m going to try the one leg one when I get a chance. Thanks for the moves.
Joe: As I have said many time your are awesome! With your help I am able to give my team an edge over other teams! You constantly make me think outside the box!
Haha yes of course they will say that Rhea. They could even use a pillow on a wood or tile floor, a rug flipped over, etc, etc. But they would rather just not workout.
